Why doesn’t Queensland have day light savings?

I woke up, it was 5 am. It was sunrise. Amazing. I still had 1 hour sleep. I wondered, why is my clock not changing in a months time? There is much philosophical and technical debates but the short of it is how different time zones should be within Queensland. Being a state decision, 54.6% have voted ‘no’ to day light savings. Particularly those up north.

I get it. Although impractical to those in the south of Queensland. And I really enjoy sunrises.
