Eighteen hundreds still alive

In some places time never passes. Such is for this tiny place in the middle of Tasmania, Oatsland. Population 540. I am not sure if its name is part of a not-so-funny joke but here the third oldest windmill, the Calibgton mill, in Australia can be found still in operation. It dates from 1837 like many of the houses. Definitely something that can be seen and felt as you stroll down the main street or have a cinnamon roll in a cafe. This little town is not only a good stop along the 200km drive along the heritage highway between Launceston and Hobart, but also to see some of the 87 sandstone buildings built by convict labour.
