Since we got here in India, the road in front of our housing complex has been in construction. Apparently it has been going for quite a while. In an already crowded place, it creates so much traffic at peak hours. It also means that the sidewalks are broken – though pavement is in general a luxury in India which means pedestrians venture the streets alongside rickshaws, bikes, buses, cars all in the hope of getting somewhere safely. And still today (when this picture was taken is Saturday) these people work in an early morning to wipe out small specks of dirt off the road.
